FAQ

How are the new discussion breaks structured in the Alpha Film Series?

When churches use the new Alpha Film Series with Discussion Breaks to run their Alphas, discussion time is interspersed throughout the talk. In each episode, at the appropriate moments, the host will be prompted to pause the video and a discussion question will pop up on the screen. After allowing for some discussion time, the host can hit play on the video again and resume the talk. (If you are familiar with the Alpha Youth Series or The Marriage Course it will be a similar discussion format to these.)

Why has this new feature been created?

The discussion breaks create time and space (while the content and questions are still fresh in everyone’s mind) for groups to discuss life and faith as the episodes progress. We hope that this new format will encourage engagement throughout as well as keeping the discussion focussed and relevant to the episodes. This should also help hosts and helpers to facilitate the discussion time more seamlessly.
