Alpha in the Workplace
We spend an average of forty hours a week with our colleagues, and you can only talk about your plans for the weekend and the weather for so long. Why not discuss things that really matter?
Wherever you work, Alpha can work
There is a growing spiritual hunger in the workplace. Work commitments are keeping people in the office for longer hours. Many of the people you work with might never willingly go to church on their own, but are looking for an opportunity to discuss matters of meaning and faith.
Alpha can be integrated easily into a regular working day. It can be hosted in an hour during lunch, before the start or at the end of the workday. Running Alpha in the Workplace empowers Christian professionals and employees to be effective witnesses wherever they work.
“Nearly two out of five young adults globally are dealing with weak levels of connection. For many of these young people, the workplace is the new church. It is where they are finding their social connections.”
Barna Research, Faith for the Future
Every Alpha session has three key ingredients
Connection
Whether in person over a meal or virtually with a cup of tea, all sessions start with a time to connect, relax and build friendships.
Content
The Alpha talks are designed to inspire conversation. They explore the big issues of life, meaning and the Christian faith.
Conversation
One of the most important parts of any Alpha is the discussion time. There’s no obligation to say anything and there’s nothing you can’t say.
